My name is Roger LaDouceur and I've been tattooing since 1990. I started tattooing while still in the US Navy, after completing my service I worked in several street shops rocking out flash day in and day out. I was looking for something more fulfilling and Steven "Inker" Gabriel gave me an apprenticeship at Guideline Tattoos in E. Hartford, CT. He chewed me up and what got spit out three years later was a rougher version of the artist I am today. He taught me to tattoo with quality, consistency, and pride. I moved to Roanoke, VA. in 2000 and opened Star City Tattoos in 2006. I try to be as diverse as possible when it comes to my tattoo style in order to help a wider array of clients, but I prefer a blend of new school and neo-traditional. I take every day as an opportunity to better my craft and I use every tattoo as a learning experience. If you find yourself traveling through Virginia hit me up, you owe it to your skin. I work by appointment only. I will however make an exception for strange and or odd tattoo walk-ins, with time permitting.
